Three N.J. schools are in nation’s top 30 high schools

Three New Jersey schools - in Lincroft, Freehold and Hackensack - have made the top 30 best high schools in the United States, according to a report from The Daily Beast.

The report, which has 2,000 schools total, was determined by graduation rate, college acceptance rate, Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB) and Advanced International Certificate of Education tests (AICE) taken per student and the percentage of students enrolled in at least one of the AP/IB/AICE courses.

High Technology High School in Lincroft was the highest-ranking state school, coming in at number 16. The school's average SAT score is 2113, with an average AP test score of 4.5, the report states.

Biotechnology High School in Freehold is ranked number 24 in the report; Bergen County Academics, located in Hackensack, is at number 26.

A bit higher on the list are Dr. Ronald E. McNair Academic High School in Jersey City at 61, Union County Magnet High School for Science, Mathematics, and Technology in Scotch Plains at 65, and Bergen County Technical High School in Teterboro at 74.
